Croatia: First Stop--> Zagreb

After we all passed our danish language course, we had a week off before semester classes began. So we thought, why not find a place where we can enjoy the last bit of summer heat, a place that is cheap, and a place much different than Copenhagen. We settled on Croatia; a week long tour of the entire country.

We began our journey in Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia.

St. Mark's Church, which dates back to the 13th century

Zagreb turned out to be a beautiful city, very different from every other city I have visited so far. One of the best aspects of the city was that it is by no means touristy, making it feel even more foreign to us.

We stayed at the Chill Out Hostel which was in the dead center of the city; just below the stairs to the St Mark's Church.

Close to our hostel, we found this charming street filled with outdoor restaurants and bars which architecture and an aura represented in a fairy tale.

We had some traditional Croatia food at a cool restaurant along the street. One specific food that we tended to find everywhere was called Cevapi, which were minced meat finger sausages; delicious.

While our stay in Zagreb was short (only one night), I am glad we gave it a shot because it was above and beyond all of our expectations.
